The Generation 3 Oil Pans take up a lot of real estate in the engine bay. In the past when the oil pans were steel you could opt to just modify them and continue your build. In this case the Gen 3 oil pans are composite and very hard to modify in the same regard. A low cost option to overcome this is to install an earlier generation 1/2 steel oem oil pan. Although it bolts on, not much inside the oiling systems are the same. The genration 3 oil pump for example has a different connection for the pick up tube. The generation 3 pick up tube is part of the oil pan where the earlier generations it was a separate item fastened to the engine. So to overcome all these obstacles in switching out the oil pan, PBH has put together a full kit with all the parts and pieces needed. Some of the parts are custom made by PBH and the rest are oem Ford.
To accomplish this PBH made a custom oil pick up tube that adapted the newer Gen 3 connection to the oil pump. To mount it we include two new main cap bolts that have studs so the pickup tube can fasten to them. A custom oil pan gasket, steel oil pan, and hardware are also included. When installed your gen 3 engine will have the same footprint and space requirements as a gen 1 or 2 coyote engine.
